So, you want to apply for a great acting program - maybe that Theatre school you’ve been dreaming of as long as you can remember. Of course, you know that there are no guarantees. A good theatre or acting program is as competitive as the business itself.
Auditioning for Theatre Schools is a must-have course that caters to aspiring actors aiming to succeed in theatre school auditions. In this weekend workshop students refine their vocal projection, physicality, and emotional range through practical exercises, the course includes working with audition material. Students will be provided with personalized feedback to boost confidence and ease nerves. It also delves into industry insights, including professional expectations and the diversity of theatre programs. By the end, students will have compiled a polished audition portfolio and gain the skills and knowledge to navigate theatre school auditions effectively, fostering both artistic growth and professional readiness.
Taught by professional theatre actor Jonathan Mason (fresh off of playing Romeo at the famed Stratford Festival), Jonathan knows of what he speaks. After successfully gaining entrance and graduating from the University of Victoria’s theatre program, he went on to audition for several top Master program across the US. He had offers that included partial and full scholarships, and in the end, he selected to attend one of the UK’s top acting schools, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) where earned his Master’s in Acting. Following that he auditioned for and was accepted into one of the most rigorous and competitive programs in North America, The Birmingham Conservatory, which pays actors to train while becoming repertory members of the Stratford Festival.
